Holy Trinity School of Martial Arts
Rev. David Smith, is the senior instructor of the club and has been training in the martial arts for more than 20 years. He has a 2nd Dan black belt in Hapkido, a fifth dan in Pankration, has been a professional boxer, and fought for the NSW kickboxing title in 1996. He is also founder of the Order of the Fighting Fathers, an international membership of Christian Fighters who are committed to "Fighting For Things Worth Fighting For". Our standard of training is very high, yet we do not believe that anyone can develop fully as a martial artist until their fighting skills are integrated into an overall discipline of body, mind and spirit. To find out more about David and the club visit www.fatherdave.org.
With this in mind, the Holy Trinity School of Martial Arts tries to encourage it's members to grow in their faith and in their relationships while they develop as fighters. This three-sided approach to training is symbolised by the ' Faith, Fellowship, and Fitness ' triangle. Those who train with the club do not have to share the faith perspectives of their instructors, but they are expected to uphold the values of the club, and to pursue their own path of martial arts training with integrity. Members have the opportunity to train in their chosen style ie. kickboxing, boxing or wrestling, to train for competitions like the Christian vs Lions Promotions or compete and grade in the art of Pankration.
