Holy Trinity Staff

Holy Trinity Anglican Church has three paid staff and a host of volunteers who are here on a regular basis. We feel very privileged to have such a competent and talented staff, despite our small numbers. We do rely heavily on these and many other volunteers who contribute to our special events, parish council, and those who contribute to the running of the service each week.

Introduced here, are the people who are onsite on a regular basis throughout the week as paid staff and who you are likely to meet if you make contact with us.

Reverend David B. Smith
Minister

Father David Smith

David was ordained priest in 1989, and was appointed to the Dulwich Hill Parish in December 1990. Since joining the parish at Holy Trinity, David has worked closely within the community and has gained much support for his work in the area, particularly for his work in the youth drug culture.

David was born in Newtown, and has lived most of his life within a few kilometres of Dulwich Hill. He attended primary school in Summer Hill and high school at Fort St., Petersham.

David has studied broadly in areas of the arts and welfare work, and has degrees in philosophy, and theology. He has also trained broadly in the martial arts with a second degree blackbelt in Hapkido, a black belt in Pankration and a professional boxing fight under his belt. He has since used his fighting skills to reach troubled kids in the area, gaining the title of Fighting Father Dave for his work.

His conviction of the benefits of fight training and the dream of uniting christian fighters everywhere to "fight for things worth fighting for", led to the formation of the Order of the Fighting Fathers in 1999. Visit the Fighting Fathers Website to find out more.

David is married to Angela. They have two daughters, Veronica (17) and Imogen (9) and a son, Soren-Lee (5).
