1. I can't download the software
When you purchased Internet Angel, you should have received an email with a download link. Click on this link while connected to the Internet to download the software. If you have lost the email with the link in it, please email support@holytrinity.org.au and we will resend it to you, so long as you are a registered user.
2. I've lost the unlock key and can't run the software
You received the unlock password when you registered your copy of Internet Angel. Click here to go to the registration page again and re-register. Don't worry, you won't receive two copies of the monthly Youth Centre news bulletin. Duplicate entries in the database are simply disregarded. Even so, you will receive the password again.
3. I've forgotten the password I set up to for Internet Angel
You can reset your password information by deleting the config.dat file that contains this information. Go to the folder where Internet Angel was installed (normally c:\program files\Trinitys Internet Angel), find the file and delete it. When you restart the program you will need to supply a new password.
4. Internet Angel doesn't seem to be blocking any sites
Internet Angel only blocks the sites you ask it to block. By default it doesn't block anything until you start compiling a list of sites that you consider off limit. You can also make it function the opposite way - to block everything except sites on your legitimate list. All this is controlled in the 'Admin & Options' control panel.
The best approach will probably depend on the age of your child. With a Primary school aged child, you may be best to block everything to begin with, and then choose sites with your child that are added to your 'legitimate' list. With a teenager, you might be best to examine the list of sites she or he visits from the log, and then ban selected sites that you find on that list.
5. Internet Angel isn't loading each time Windows(TM) starts?
Check to see that you have the 'load program at Windows startup' box checked. This checkbox is the first of the security options in the 'Admin & Options' control panel.
6. How do I check what my kids have been looking at?
Go to the 'Web Surfing Reports' panel. From there you can chose to view the list of all visited sites or blocked sites. You can also view the screenshots that were taken while Internet Angel was active and every keystroke that was pressed!
Tip: after viewing the screenshots, delete them to save space on your harddisk drive.
7. How can I make sure that my kids don't turn Internet Angel off?
By design, Internet Angel can only be closed or 'turned off' by someone who has the password. If you don't tell your kids the password, they won't be able to turn it off. Indeed, if you take the option of not displaying the Internet Angel icon in the taskbar, they won't even know that it is running.
It is possible, if your kids have a good knowledge of the Windows operating system, that they could close down Internet Angel by shutting down its process through the Windows task manager. If this happens, it will be obvious, as they won't be able to restart the program. The same password is required to start the program as to close it.
If Internet Angel is shut down unexpectedly, you will be able to judge at exactly what time this happened by looking at the time the last screenshot was taken. The screenshot and keystroke log should not be affected by any system shutdown.
8. I can see the Internet Angel icon in the system tray, but how do I access the user options?
Double-click on the icon.
9. I can't see the Internet Angel icon at all, though I'm sure I didn't close the program.
Try pressing function key F12 (top row of your keyboard). If you unchecked the 'show program in system tray' option, this is the only way to access the Internet Angel control panel.
This option is the last of the security options, found in the 'Admin and Options' section of the control panel. Take this option if you want to disguise the presence of Internet Angel completely.
In certain cases, this option has proven unreliable, in that the F12 key doesn't bring the control panel back. This does not affect Internet Angel's operation, in that the key log and screenshot log are unaffected. In such cases though we suggest that you do not use this option.
